Then and Now - Tutuban Center

This is the site where Andres Bonifacio created his Katipunan. This structure is now converted into a shopping mall serving the middle and lower classes, known as the Tutuban Center Mall.

This building is located along Claro M. Recto Avenue in Manila. This became the main terminal of the Luzon Railways date back to the Spanish period. Old houses and sturctures in this area, including the house of Andres Bonifacio were demolished to give way to the construction of this terminal in 1870s. Today, some of the original bricks that were used in the original terminal are still there, highlighting some vintage equipments that were being used during the colonial period.

Then and Now - Avenida corner Mayhaligue

These pictures are the 1945 and the present day comparison of Mayhaligue street corner Rizal Avenue in Manila.

The corner of Mayhaligue and Rizal Avenue became the entry point of American tanks to the downtown Manila, shown in the first photo. Ilan sa mga lumang bahay at gusali dito ay makikita pa din hanggang sa ngayon, gaya ng lumang bahay na ito na makikita sa picture…
